Kia PH gives iconic Hidilyn Diaz a stylish Kia Stonic

MANILA: After almost 100 years of trying, the Philippines finally struck gold in the Olympics thanks to “Atletang Magiting” Hidilyn Diaz. As an expression of its gratitude and admiration, Kia Philippines gifted her a top-of-the-line Kia Stonic, which is just as stylish and iconic as the weightlifter herself.

"Thank you sa pag-recognize sa pagka-panalo ko. Thank you so much na na-appreciate ninyo yung nagawa ko para sa bansa (Thank you for recognizing my victory. Thank you for appreciating what I did for the country)," Hidilyn said, sharing that the Kia Stonic would be most helpful in bringing her to and from various destinations within Metro Manila. 

Hidilyn has been training for greatness since she was a teenager, and she vowed to bring home the gold medal from the prestigious quadrennial event. She followed through with her promise and is now a national hero.

The “Atletang Magiting” (Heroic Athlete) program is an initiative of the Ayala Foundation to promote love of country and patriotism. Through its Maging Magiting (Become Heroic) campaign, the Ayala Foundation calls on and recognizes outstanding Filipino citizens to show heroism, bravery, and excellence in their own special and unique ways. Similar programs such as the Pulis Magiting x Pilipinong Magiting (Heroic Police x Heroic Filipino) have recognized the brave men and women in uniform who showed extraordinary acts of valor and service beyond the call of duty.

Hidilyn’s recognition in this regard is and being honored as “Atletang Magiting” is part of the Ayala group’s continued commitment towards honoring excellence and building national pride and development.

The 2021 Kia Stonic is a five-seater subcompact crossover powered by a 1.4-liter, in-line four, DOHC, D-CVVT petrol engine. It makes 99hp@6,000rpm and 132Nm of torque at 4,000rpm.
