Kia PH gives sneak peek, more details ahead of Stonic's Oct. launch
MANILA: Kia Philippines has sparked excitement for its forthcoming new release since July with the announcement of an exciting new to launch next month — October 15, to be exact.
This is, of course, the 2021 Kia Stonic.
More details were recently revealed to the media about the stylish and hip subcompact crossover to satisfy the needs and demands of the young market.
Considering the tagline, “Style that is Iconic,” this trendy crossover is ideal for those who want to display their taste in vehicles.
The European Design Language, conveyed through the vehicle by the chief designer of, Kia Peter Schreyer, is shown in the smooth surfaces, crisp lines, exquisite look, and compact features of the Stonic. These features complement the durable and trendy roof rails at the top of the unit and the iconic tiger nose grille.
Its LED daytime running lights (exclusive to the EX variant) and projector headlamps in the front fascia provide better illumination to the peripheral area, without the need to worry about incoming drivers who might be the cause of distraction on the road.
As for its dimensions, the Stonic holds a multifunctional storage area with 60:40 full-fold flat rear seats. Even when the seats are upright, it gives 325 liters of sufficient room for groceries or for baggage whenever the car owner has out-of-town trips.
The subcompact crossover also features a two-tone color option, which is meant to demonstrate the positive and vibrant nature of the car owner.
A 1.4-liter dual CVVT engine mated with either a six-speed automatic or five-speed manual transmission provides power to the Stonic. The power mill is expected to produce a maximum of 99hp for the automatic and 98hp for the manual option. This particular engine-transmission coupling results in a higher fuel efficiency rating.
Safety is also a key priority in the Stonic. It features functions like the hill start assist, electronic stability control, rearview camera with dynamic guidelines, and rear parking sensor (all on the EX variant) to ensure the welfare of the driver and passengers while on the road.
Moreover, 185-mm ground clearance offers a sense of safety and security while driving through floodwaters.
The push start button and smart entry also gives more ease to the car owner for a safe and adventurous ride.
The 2021 Kia Stonic ensures continuous entertainment while on the road with friends and family through its eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which is compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It allows music to be clearly heard through the six audio speakers that come as standard on the Stonic.
Similar to other members of the Kia Philippines lineup, the Stonic will be backed up with a maximum of five years or 160,000-km warranty, whichever comes first.
It is also available with free 24/7 roadside assistance for five years, which promises a better user experience.
Services can be requested through the Kia customer hotline, These include information service, medical assistance, minor onsite repair, personal assistance, and emergency towing.
The Stonic, aside from being value-packed, is available at an attractive pre-launch price of P875,000 for the top-grade variant, P785,000 for the middle-range (LX AT) variant, and P675,000 for the entry-level (LX MT) variant — a special offer that will be granted to those who will make reservations until its debut on October 15, 2020.
