Kia refreshes PH-retailed Carnival

MANILA: Kia Philippines has unveiled the spruced-up iteration of the Carnival.

Per the ACMobility-led automotive distributor, the multi-purpose vehicle’s latest version blends “opulent comfort and bold design with cutting-edge technology” and is aligned with the company’s latest imagery.

“The new Kia Carnival is meticulously engineered to elevate family travel, catering specifically to modern executives and family-oriented individuals. With unmatched versatility and advanced safety features, it embodies the essence of sophistication and practicality,” the company noted.

Vehicle specifications

The new Kia Carnival measures 5,155 millimeters (mm) long; 1,995 mm wide; 1,740 mm tall with a 3,090-mm wheelbase and 162-mm ground clearance.

Its front fascia wears an updated Tiger Nose grille, multi-faceted reflector-type LED vertical headlamps and the Star Map daytime running lights. Meanwhile, the rear comes with a Star Map graphic LED lighting and a remodeled skid plate.

The people carrier sits on 18- or 19-inch alloy wheels depending on the variant chosen.

Inside, the new Kia Carnival boasts captain seats (manual or electronically adjustable), two 12.3-inch digital displays (instrument cluster and infotainment system), six-speaker sound system, and numerous charging sockets (six USB charging points, a wireless charging dock, and three 12-volt 180-Watt outlets).

The new Kia Carnival’s powertrain is still the potent 2.2-liter Smartstream turbo diesel engine that has the capability of delivering a maximum of 200 horsepower. Available with four drive modes (Normal, Eco, Sport, and Smart), the mill sends its output to the front wheels via the eight-speed automatic transmission.

Further, the newly-revealed offering is outfitted with the Kia DriveWise suite of advanced driver assistance safety technologies, which include smart or standard cruise control, forward collision-avoidance assist and a surround view monitor that match its comprehensive safety package, such as the eight-airbag system, front and rear parking sensors, anti-lock braking system, electronic stability control, hill start assist — among others.

Available in Aurora Black Pearl, Snow White Pearl, and the variant-exclusive Ceramic Silver, below are the new Kia Carnival’s two variations and their respective prices:

• 2.2 EX Diesel AT: P2.888 million
• 2.2 SX Diesel AT: P3.368 million

Kia Philippines shared that the both variations are packaged with the standard five-year or 160,000-kilometer warranty and 24/7 roadside assistance, that gives emergency towing, minor onsite repairs, and medical and personal assistance.
