Kia Stonic arrives in PH this October

MANILA: Now, we really know what's coming.

After speculations ran aplenty when Kia Philippines, under the Ayala Group of Companies, teased with a photo sometime ago about the next vehicle to enter the country, it has finally confirmed that the next model launched here will  be the Kia Stonic.

A subcompact SUV, the entry-level crossover is expected to arrive in the Philippine automobile market in October 2020.

First unveiled globally at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2017, the latest addition to the Kia Philippines SUV portfolio promises swiftness and a new approach. The name is a play on "speed and tonic."

Inspired by a European design language as imagined by Kia Chief Design Officer Peter Schreyer, the Stonic sports smooth surfaces punctuated with geometric forms for a more youthful and pleasant appeal.

Projector-type halogen headlamps with LED daytime running lights supplement the look of the vehicle — giving a sleek appearance while improving visibility.

Driving is also more convenient due to a reverse camera and rear parking sensors. The hill start assist and electronic stability control guarantee safety while traveling.

The Kia Stonic, as it targets young families and buyers, is equipped with tech features to adapt to the current connected lifestyle. Its touchscreen infotainment system flaunts both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for easier connectivity while a series of storage spaces give convenience.

Though the Kia Stonic will be a new vehicle to the Philippine market, it has already earned numerous awards worldwide. In 2018, the Red Dot and iF Design awards were both given to the Stonic, in recognition of its sharp lines.
