In additions to some great launches, the show also house latest cars that have already landed on the Philippine soil a while ago and are available for sale. One such car is the all-new Mitsubishi Montero Sport that recently was added by Mitsubishi Philippines to its limited 11-car lineup. This rugged SUV created a lot of hype before its launch through numerous twitter and facebook appearances, all with a "coming Soon" badge attached.

To further increase its reach and customer base, Mitsubishi Philippines has planned an MIAS dedicated 2016 Montero Sport showcasing. So, when visiting 2016 MIAS, look out for one. The car landed on the Philippines land early this March, so an MIAS showcasing will surely help it boost its sales figures.

Mitsubishi is offering Montero Sport 2016 in four trims - GT 4WD 8 Speed AT, GLS 4WD 6 Speed MT, GLS 2WD Premium 8 Speed AT and GLS 2WD 8 Speed AT. Each offering basic standard features with only some additional feature that rightly justify the added cost. The base trim costs PhP 1,50,000, the mid-level variants range between PhP 1,685,000- 1,785,000 and lastly, the top trim is priced at PhP 1,988,000.

Transmission and Engine -

All the trims are powered by the same 2.4L 4-CYL DOHC 16V Clean Diesel engine with Mitsubishi Valve timing Electronic Control system. The said mill effortlessly churns out a maximum power output of 181 PS at 3500 rpm along with 430 Nm at 2500 rpm of peak torque. As mentioned above, the top level GT trim is only available with a eight-speed automatic gearbox. As for the GLS variant, here the engine comes mated to either an eight-speed automatic or six-speed manual gearbox, so choose the one that suits you best.

Look & Feel -

Elegance with a hint of sportiness rightly defines 2016 Montero Sport. The exterior body apart from being aerodynamic is bestowed with many eye-catching features that are a part of MMC’s new Dynamic Shield Design Concept . To the list are included features like high-quality LED-type with Daytime Running Lights headlamp, multi-plated chrome grille, chrome door handles, sloppy roof line, and multi-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels. Montero Sport is available in as many as seven body colors namely, Sedona Red, Mystic Blue, Virgil Gray, Savanna White, Pyrenees Black, Sterling Silver Metallic, and Deep Bronze Metallic. Another interesting feature of Montero Sport is its 700mm wading depth, making it a perfect flood prone vehicle.

Cabin Comfort & Entertainment -

2016 Montero Sport interior is no less than any other car present in its range. Mitsubishi has stuffed its car with all the latest and best-in-class features, taking full care of customers need and comfort. Inside you'll find a Capacitive Discharge Touchscreen Monitor that is paired with GPS navigation system, six speakers, steering wheel integrated audio controls, multicolor multi-information panel with alerts like light off reminder, key left reminder, and seat belt reminder. Features like push start/stop button and power side mirror are also available.

Safety & Security -

We are more than happy to inform you that Mitsubishi has kept no difference between GL and GLS trim on the safety front. Both the trims come equipped with seven SRS airbags, ABS with EBD, Hill Descent Control, Hill Start Assist, RISE body, Brake Assist System, Trailer Stability Assist, Electronic Parking Brake , Immobilizer, Defogger, Side Impact Beam and Keyless Entry System. Impressive, isn’t it.
