Mahindra Officially Arrives in Philippines

MANILA: Mahindra and Mahindra Limited, India's leading SUV manufacturer marks its footprint in the Philippines under the exclusive distributorship of Asiabrands Motors Corporation, a new sister concern of Columbian Group of Companies. With the introduction of Mahindra vehicles, the portfolio offering of Columbian Group has definitely increased which initially consisted of Peugeot, Kia, and Daewoo Bus.

The press launch was attended by Asianbrands Motor Corporation Executives, principals from Mahindra & Mahindra including Mr. Pravin Shah, Mahindra's President and Chief Executive for the Automotive Division and many other guests. Mahindra Philippines will now be headed by Mr. Felix J. Mabilog, who has decades of experience in the auto industry under the Columbian Group which is recently located at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel in Mandaluyong.

Mahindra's line up will consist of a series of 4X4 vehicles which includes Enforcer pick up in single cab and double cab configurations and Xylo 7-seaters. Prior to this formal introduction in the country, the Mabilog and Mahindra also earned a Philippine National Police contract after fighting with many other brands in the bidding process, and now 1500 Enforcer pick-ups will be supplied as per the contract.

"Mahindra's products are true 4x4 vehicles, we’ve been making SUVs for the last 60-70 years. The expertise and experience is there in making 4x4s." said Mr. Pravin Shah, President and Chief Executive of Mahindra & Mahindra. "We are going to prove to you that the cheapest will not be necessarily the lousiest," continued Mabilog. "Even if we're the cheapest, we can be the best."

Moving forward, the brand has also announced a very aggressive expansion plan which includes three dealerships in Luzon namely in Quirino Avenue, Las Pinas, and Pasay City. These three dealerships are already open for both sales and service and will be further joined by three more dealerships across the islands named as Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, and Butuan.
