Mazda PH presents bolder-looking, better-equipped, and safer CX-9

MANILA: Mazda Philippines said it has raised the bar for class and comfort once again with the introduction of a sportier, safer, and more premium option for its flagship seven-seater crossover, the 2022 CX-9.

With the addition of the sporty Black Edition and new improved features across all three variants, the 2022 CX-9 reaffirms its dominating presence on the road. It has set the standard in the premium sports utility vehicle (SUV) and crossover category once again, with its exquisite design, first-class functionality, greater comfort, and advanced safety features.

In a statement, Mazda Philippines Chief Executive Officer Steven Tan said, “The Mazda CX-9 has always been at the helm of Mazda’s ongoing journey to premium. As our premier SUV offering, it continues to champion a superior level of quality, richness, and performance that makes it stand out with prestige. We are confident that our discerning clientele will again be enamored by the new CX-9’s presence and the premium stature it affords them.”

Among the new features that improve convenience, driving pleasure, and comfort across the entire Mazda CX-9 range are the standard 9.2-inch infotainment display with Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charger pad, Auto Hold function, G-Vectoring Plus, and paddle shifters.

The new CX-9 AWD Exclusive, which sits at the pinnacle of the 2022 CX9 range, emanates a whole new level of elegance and sophistication.

With its exceptional handling and traction, the CX-9 AWD Exclusive reaches new heights of on- and off-road safety. This is also made possible by the Mazda i-Activ All-Wheel Drive system, which is now improved by off-road traction assist.

Featuring 20-inch bright silver alloy wheels and boasting a new gray metallic front grille design and bigger tailpipe finishers, the CX-9 AWD Exclusive arrives with smooth elegance in any occasion.

On the inside, the CX-9 AWD Exclusive features three rows of exquisite Oriental Brown Nappa leather seats for seven adult passengers. For added comfort, the driver and front passenger seats are ventilated. To add an impression of elegance, the seat surfaces are diamond pattern-stitched, offering a cozier quilted living space for all occupants. The CX-9 AWD Exclusive also comes standard with an electric sunroof.

The 12-speaker Bose Premium Sound System, which is integrated to the nine-inch Mazda Connect infotainment display, provides a rich audio experience.

The inclusion of the complete set of i-Activesense Safety Technologies in the CX-9 AWD Exclusive results in a higher level of driver and passenger safety. The vehicle comes standard with radar cruise control, which automatically maintains distance from the car it is following, when activated. Meanwhile, Smart City Brake Support reduces the risk of colliding with approaching vehicles while driving in and out of parking spaces.

Meanwhile, the CX-9 Black Edition features a new sophisticated front grille design that is created to exude a stylish and unique presence on the road. The sculpted new grille, finished in Piano Black, adds a new level of elegance to the three-row full-sized crossover.

The CX-9 Black Edition, with its 20-inch black alloy wheels, projects youthful sportiness and elegance from every angle. It creates a commanding presence on any road, with gloss black side mirrors reflecting the driver’s personality.

With burgundy leather seats and red stitching on the leather steering wheel, the CX-9 Black Edition interiors make a dramatic statement. The eight-way driver and six-way front passenger power seat control-equipped seats come with seat ventilation as standard.

The vehicle also comes with with two USB ports. A 360-degree camera view is displayed on the 9.2-inch Mazda Connect LCD screen to aid the driver when parking. The CX-9 Black Edition also comes with i-Activsense Safety Technologies, including lane departure warning with lane keep assist and blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert.

Another 2022 CX-9 variant is the CX-9 Touring, which features a minimalist exterior design that was created for the busy executive who has to move around the city. It prioritizes riding comfort without losing the commanding form the CX-9 is known for, thanks to its 18-inch gray metallic alloy wheels and front-wheel drive configuration.

On the inside, the CX-9 Touring features black leather seats in all three rows. With six-way driver and four-way front passenger power adjustment seats, the CX-9 Touring creates precise seating positions for the front row occupants.

All variants of the 2022 CX-9 are powered by a Skyactiv-G 2.5-liter Dynamic Turbo engine that churns out 231ps and 420Nm of torque. The engine is paired to a six-speed Skyactiv-Drive automatic transmission that helps deliver high-powered performance and fuel efficiency.

Every purchase of 2022 CX-9 comes with Mazda Philippines’ five-year free service plan, which covers the expenses of periodic maintenance at either six-month or 10,000-km intervals, for up to five years or 100,000 km. It also comes with a three-year bumper-to-bumper warranty.

The 2022 Mazda CX-9 is now available at all Mazda dealerships nationwide with a starting price of P2.49 million.
