MG Cyberster to have its PH debut on April

MANILA: The distributor of Morris Garages (MG) in the Philippines confirmed the unveiling of the Cyberster in April — particularly at 2024 Manila International Auto Show.

The model will be displayed at the event's SMX Convention Center wing.SAIC Motor Philippines (SMPI) Marketing Director Daximilan Avenido confirmed to Zigwheels Philippines that the purely electric-powered sports car shall be part of the brand’s display lineup in the aforementioned motoring event slated on April 4-7 — particularly at the SMX Convention Center (one of the two venues where the event will be held).
To note, the upcoming Cyberster was previewed last December — months after a tip was shared to Zigwheels Philippines pertaining to its arrival.
An unnamed source said that the model could be within the sub-P4 million mark.
Further, MG Philippines said that prior to the official reveal, the model will tour key destinations in the Philippines —driven by British adventurers Hugo and Ross Turner (collectively known as the Turner Twins) — as part of the Cyberster World Tour.
“The MG Cyberster is one of the brand’s newest crowning achievements in electric vehicle innovation, and as part of MG’s continued and ambitious mission of expanding the brand across the globe on its 100th year, we’re honored to be able to take the car through the beauty of the Philippines as a big part of its World Tour,” SAIC Motors Philippines President Felix Jiang said.
“Not only are we showcasing the country in this monumental global tour, but we’re also introducing Filipinos to the Cyberster and the bright future of electric vehicles that awaits them,” he added.
To note, the battery-powered two-door, two-seater convertible coupe comes with a 64-kilowatt-hour, 400 volt-type lithium-ion unit that lets the vehicle cover as much as 446 kilometers on a single full charge (based on worldwide harmonized light vehicle test procedure standards).
