MIAS 2016- Get Ready to go on a Ford Drive
MANILA: The stage is set for an expansive drive for you to discover. Get ready to go on the best drive of your life with Ford masterpieces at the Manila International Auto Show 2016. The biggest auto extravaganza is here, which is inviting visitors from 7th to 10th April. Spread across a vast area of over 30,000 square metres, the show hosts a wide range of brands with their respective mind-boggling creations that’ll certainly take the viewers by storm. One such brand from the flock is the brand from America, Ford, which has a list of scintillating drives at your disposal. We at Carbay has drafted a list of Ford cars centre staged at the event with a brief about the same.
Ford EcoSport Black Edition
The first to join the league of Ford cars is the new bold EcoSport Black Edition. Granting an aggressive and manly look to the artistic EcoSport, Ford wanted to bless the Filipino with something fresh and what would be better than revising the best-seller Ford product. As the name says, it will be All-Black. As far as cosmetic tweaks are concerned, the front grille, wing mirrors, roof rails and the 16-inch alloy wheels get the piano black paint job while the cabin remains the same with a grey finish.
Mechanical specifications aren’t altered and it continues to be powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine, which is good enough for 108 hp and 142 Nm of peak torque.
Ford Mustang 2016
With an unmistaken style, classic creases and curves, the 2016 Mustang has marked its presence at the Ford pavilion. The newest model continues to follow the ages old tradition of advanced technology and pony-car attitude which has always made it stand apart from the crowd. The sixth-gen Mustang is powered by a choice of 4 engines – 3.7-litre V6, 2.3-litre EcoBoost, 5.0-litre V8 and 5.2-litre V8 which give this muscle car the power to roar on the tracks. With a 2+2 seating configuration, the new Mustang has a generous size along with 'good' safety ratings from IIHS.
All-new Everest
All-new Ford Everest made its way to the Philippine auto market last year. Now the brand is ready to continue the legacy of its revolutionary mid-sized SUV by previewing all-new Everest at the MIAS 2016. Ford will present the Everest with a breakthrough amalgamation of stylish rugged design, first-in-segment features and excellent off-road and on-road capabilities. An all-new Everest is packed with the same powerful 3.2 and 2.2-litre Duratorq engines. The former is capable of churning out a max power of 200 PS and a peak torque of 470 Nm while the other is good enough for 160 PS and 385 Nm of torque. It’s been awarded five star safety rating by the Australian NCAP, which describes how well the brand has worked upon its safety aspect.
Ford Focus 2016
Launched last year in November, the latest Focus gave a strong competition to the Ford's compact rivals with its upgraded looks and technology. Now the company has decided to walk the most reputed ramp of MIAS 2016 with its new Ford Focus 2016. Claimed to come with the more refinement and smartness, the new Focus has got a sleeker design, latest driver assist features and updated tech. The latest addition also includes the new 18-inch and 17-inch alloy wheels while the side profile remains somewhat same. The most standout feature among its latest additions is the brand new 1.5-litre inline-four EcoBoost engine doling out a total output of 180 PS/240 Nm.
All-new Ranger
Last year, Ford Philippines has launched the 2015 Ford Ranger in the country and very soon came up with the updated model of the pickup as a 2016 year model. The company has taken its pride in showcasing the latest model Ranger at the auto show in Manila. The updated looks and its wide range of new technology are already a dead giveaway to the vast hard work done on this pickup. However, it will continue to carry the powerful and most efficient 3.2-litre 5 cylinder and 2.2-litre 4-cylinder Duratorq engines.
Ford is considered as the highly-in-demand brand in the country outclassing the other mass market brands like Toyota, Honda, and Suzuki. The blue oval brand is also crowned as top-selling brand in the country as it continues to perform exceptionally well in both the starting months of a year and it will continue its legacy with its wide range of new model offerings at the show.
