MIAS 2019: Jeep Cherokee and Compass showcased

MANILA: Auto Nation Group has expanded Jeep Philippines compact SUV range by displaying revamped models of Cherokee and Compass at the MIAS Wired 2020. The two vehicles now stand next to the new generation Wrangler and the new Renegade that was made available for sale last month.

Cherokee was first previewed last month alongside the launch of 2019 Wrangler. On the same day, Auto Nation Group also celebrated its 15th anniversary as the exclusive Philippine distributor of Jeep and a few other companies.

The new Cherokee is a part of Jeep's premium SUV lineup. It comes with revamped cosmetics that include new LED headlights and a lightweight aluminium hood. The front also features a unique metal grille composed of seven segments with chrome borders, which has been evolved over the generations.

The side profiles are clean followed by the LED taillights at the back, which has a bit of its upper part into the rear windshield. The rear bottom end is marked by a large bumper with integrated exhaust pipes.

Explicit upgrades are also visible inside the vehicle with glossy Satin Chrome and Piano Black aesthetics and housing of a hefty of features.

On the other hand, the all-new Compass gets a striking exterior. Its upper body structure is framed as a single unit, and the company has extensively used high-strength steel that results in a sturdy getup. At the front, there is the same segmented metal grille and a massive and bold bumper at the bottom. Ingressing inside, the SUV is well equipped with a wide array of features. The interior is largely single toned, but one can find frequent usage of colored outlines.

Under the hood, the new Cherokee features the 2.4-litre MultiAir2 Tigershark 4-cylinder engine mated to a TorqueFlite 9-speed automatic. The mill churns out a maximum power of 180 hp and a peak torque of 232 Nm.

Regarding the new Ph-spec Compass, there is no information available about the powertrain yet.
