Mitsubishi PH rolls out top-selling Outlander PHEV
MANILA: Last September 5, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) locally made available the Mitsubishi Outlander plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), the world’s best-selling PHEV SUV.
Prior to its launch in the Philippines, the 260,000 units were sold in Australia, Japan, North America, and Europe.
Through its all-electric operation for daily use and motor-powered hybrid operation for longer travels, the Outlander PHEV targets to uphold sustainability and greener energy options for environmental preservation and awareness.
The Outlander PHEV product concept reflects the world-class expertise of the company on innovative technologies and the rich heritage of automotive engineering.
Combining the exceptional traits of known models of Mitsubishi Motors like the electric vehicle (EV) Mitsubishi i-MiEV, the classic 4WD rally car Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, and the Mitsubishi Pajero SUV, the Outlander PHEV brings economical use of energy, remarkable performance, and commanding presence.
A PHEV is considered a distinctive technology that combines hybrid and electric systems, enabling users to enjoy the advantages of both ICE system and electric motor.
Fitted with a twin-motor four-wheel-drive (4WD) system that brings power autonomously to the rear and front wheels, the Outlander PHEV can produce automatic all-wheel-drive acceleration with zero emissions and immediate torque.
The engine produces a torque of 199Nm and a power output of 126hp. The maximum torque available for the Outlander PHEV is 137Nm for the front and 195Nm for the rear.
With the Outlander PHEV, comfort and space are not compromised. The SUV is engineered for people who are always on the go and it can comfortably accommodate five passengers with versatile seat arrangements to provide space for different cargo requirements.
A maximum of 1,602 liters of space can also be used when the second row is folded.
Through the eight-inch Smartphone-Link Display Audio (SDA) system, the passengers and the driver can patch their mobile device through Bluetooth 3 for more convenient connectivity.
Moreover, through its compatibility with Android AutoTM4, the system provides a safer and smarter way to utilize smartphones onboard. Sending messages and making phone calls can be easily accomplished through voice or touchscreen command.
Power will never be a major concern on the Outlander PHEV as it accommodates up to 1,500W through two onboard outlets. The passengers and driver can conveniently tap electrical gadgets for their charging needs as well as home appliances for emergencies or outdoor leisure.
Combined with an anti-lock brake system (ABS), active stability control (ASC), active yaw control (AYC), super all-wheel control (S-AWC)-integrated vehicle dynamics control system, the driver can enjoy responsive and stable handling that can adapt to different road conditions.
Safety is prioritized in the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, evidenced in its recognition from the New Car Assessment Program (NCAP), which gave it a maximum five-star rating for safety.
For a hassle-free drive, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is fitted with safety features such as the ultrasonic misacceleration mitigation system (UMS), rear cross-traffic alert (RCTA) system, automatic high beam (AHB), blind-spot warning (BSW) and lane change assist (LCA), forward collision mitigation (FCM) system, and adaptive cruise control (ACC) system.
The PHEV is sold in the Philippines through the Peak Motors Philippines Inc. (PMPI) dealership in Manila Bay branch.
PMPI will also be the pioneer dealership in terms of the installation of the vehicle to home (V2H) showcase facility to uphold the restorative function of the Outlander PHEV as well as its capability of supplying solar-panel generated electricity to homes.
Other provincial certified dealerships such as the Mindanao Integrated Commercial Enterprises Incorporated, Motor Plaza Incorporated, SFM Sales Corporation, and Fast Autoworld Philippines Corporation will also begin selling the Outlander PHEV by early 2021.
The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is priced at P2,998,000. For inquiries, visit the official website of Mitsubishi here or book an appointment at the Mitsubishi Manila Bay branch.
