Motor Image PH reveals Asia-exclusive Subaru XV GT Edition

MANILA: Motor Image Pilipinas (MIP), the distributor of Subaru vehicles in the Philippines, introduces the 2021 Subaru XV GT Edition, a kitted-out version of the XV crossover which is sold exclusively in Asia. 

The XV GT Edition's body kit is comprised of GT alloy wheels, front and rear lip bumper extensions, and roof spoiler.  

"The second XV GT Edition model was once again created in close collaboration with renowned engineering company Giken Co. Ltd and Masahiko 'Jack' Kobayashi," MIP boasted in a release. 

Now available to order in MIP dealerships, the XV GT Edition retails for P2.08 million. MIP will offer a P210,000 discount to customers who will reserve their unit by November 30, 2021. 

As for the specifications, the XV GT Edition is powered by the range-standard two-liter non-turbo boxer engine which generates 154hp and 196Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a  Lineartronic CVT and Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. 

Meanwhile, the XV GT Edition is underpinned by the four hallmark Subaru Core Technologies, which are made up of the Symmetrical AWD, Boxer Engine, Subaru Global Platform, and EyeSight Driver Assist Technology.

To enhance performance on- and off-road, the crossover features SI-Drive and Dual-function X-Mode driving modes. 

The SI-Drive is Subaru’s powertrain performance management system that allows the driver to choose between the vehicle’s Sport and Intelligent modes.

Intelligent mode smoothens out accelerator inputs for fuel saving, while Sport mode sharpens the throttle response. 

"Perfectly suited for Philippine terrain," MIP touts, the Dual-function X-Mode allows the driver to select between two different settings depending on driving conditions. As the X-Mode works with the AWD, the systems "allow drivers to take the road less traveled more confidently, especially on uneven or compromising surfaces and challenging inclines." 

The XV GT Edition is available in eight colors: Crystal White Pearl, Ice Silver Metallic, Cool Grey Khaki, Plasma Yellow Pearl, Horizon Blue Pearl, Pure Red, Magnetite Grey Metallic, and Crystal Black Silica.
