New Audi Q7 TDI boasts updated design, features
MANILA: The upgraded design of the new 2021 Audi Q7 TDI extends the length of the full-size luxury SUV to more than five meters. This contributes to an even more expansive cabin that is wider compared to its direct competitors.
With class-leading elbow room and headroom, the new Audi Q7 establishes the standard of full-size luxury SUVs for families since it can accommodate seven people without compromising comfort. Several storage compartments as well as wide luggage space make the model more functional than before.
The new Audi Q7, which is now available in Audi Philippines showrooms, can be introduced to customers from their own homes through the Audi Live View. This completely digital luxury experience helps customers communicate in real time through a smartphone with an Audi product specialist.
The new Audi Q7 is characterized by a more robust design that adheres to the latest SUV design language of the brand. The large Singleframe grille with six upright slats makes the full-size SUV appear more tough and powerful.
The sill area and the two-part side air inlets provide a more distinctive line, highlighting the off-road capabilities and ground clearance of the vehicle.
The light signature of the HD Matrix LED technology utilized in the headlamps provides emphasis to the model’s width, while the redesigned chrome strip of the rear and flat taillights with technical-looking graphics align with the horizontal line of the body. The 20-inch cast aluminum wheels in 5-V spoke turbine style complement the refreshed design of the Q7.
The new Audi Q7 is powered by a 3.0-liter TDI V6 turbocharged diesel engine that generates 600Nm of torque and 289hp. It is mated to an eight-speed tiptronic transmission that brings the output of the engine to the Quattro all-wheel drive system.
The engine has been made more efficient through a mild hybrid system that utilizes a belt alternator starter to provide power to a 48-volt main electrical system where a compact lithium-ion battery is responsible for energy storage.
The system has the capability to regain energy when braking then utilizes it to allow the vehicle to cruise for up to 40 seconds with the engine turned off. Once the accelerator is pressed, the engine automatically restarts.
The exquisite lounge inside the new Audi Q7 puts together prestige with functional features that are useful for daily driving. The cockpit design of the model smoothly incorporates a modern, digital operating system emphasized by two big touchscreens that offer acoustic and haptic feedback for touch controls.
When turned off, the top display nearly slots invisibly into the large black decorative surface. The other elements are logically arranged as well.
Other interior features of the new Audi Q7 include the Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus that has a high-resolution color information display, the Audi Music Interface in the rear seat, four-zone automatic air-conditioning, an ambient LED lighting package, a Bang and Olufsen premium audio system, three-spoke leather-covered multi-function plus steering wheel with paddle shifters, and MMI navigation plus with MMI touch response.
The luggage compartment behind the rear seat provides a maximum of 2,050 liters of space, with a flat loading area. The three rows of seats can be slid backward or forward separately and the seatbacks can also be set in a reclining position.
An electrically operated tailgate comes as standard. The new Audi Q7, being a luxury SUV, also features power-latching, soft-closing doors.
The new Audi Q7 is regarded as an ideal family SUV with its suite of safety equipment and features, which include advanced traction and stability control systems, tire pressure monitoring, Parking Aid Plus with 360-degree display, Isofix child seat mountings, airbags at the outboard sides of the front and rear passengers, full-size airbags in front, and other driver-assist technologies.
