New Changan CS35 Plus excels in fuel economy run

MANILA: The Changan CS35 Plus achieved above-market fuel efficiency ratings at the fuel economy run conducted by the Automotive Association Philippines (AAP) last April 16.

For each run, the fuel tank was filled to the brim with Unleaded 95 RON at the gas station to mark the beginning and refilled at the end to calculate the amount of fuel used. The vehicle had all of the standard OEM equipment. The tire pressure was set to 2.2 bar. The air-conditioner was set to full blast with the lowest blower setting that was comfortable for the occupants. The radio was not turned on.

The CS35 Plus recorded a fuel consumption of 21.495kpl on the highway test route, covering a distance of 180.652 km and running at 60 to 80 kph along NLEX from Balagtas in Bulacan to Tarlac City and back. The odometer read 2,163 km at the start of the run and finished at 2,341 km. From a full tank, only 8.408 liters were added when refueling.

For the urban test route, the CS35 Plus consumed 15.254kpl after traveling 86.8 km at 60 to 80kph through the main roads linking Makati City, Manila, Quezon City, and back, with the odometer starting at 2,374 km and finishing at 2460 km. The car was refueled with only 5.69 liters of gas at the end of the run.

Once again, the powerful Blue Core technology at the heart of Changan's best-selling SUV has produced outstanding fuel-saving performance. Its 1.4-liter turbocharged gasoline direct injection engine produces 160 horsepower and 260Nm of torque, making it remarkably powerful for everyday driving. Coupled with a seven-speed dual clutch transmission system, it ensures seamless gear changes, faster response, and ample acceleration on demand.

Changan Blue Core delivers a powerful, clean, and quiet driving experience by utilizing various powertrain technologies, including TGDi and Dual VVT wet type dual clutch transmission. The optimized internal combustion system reduces fuel consumption by 20% and carbon emissions by 40% without sacrificing overall vehicle performance.

The CS35 Plus, which was released last March, also features major improvements in its safety system, called "Safe-tech." This advanced safety and protection system is composed of highly advanced active safety features that are above and beyond the basic in vehicles of its class and price tag.
