Nissan Compact SUV Spotted in Production Avatar
MANILA: Nissan Philippines recently revealed news about a prospective entry in the Compact SUV segment. Later, after enough buzz was created, the company announced that this new product will be christened as the Nissan Kicks, and will likely be a replacement of the iconic Juke moniker. Interestingly this Nissan Compact SUV has been recently caught testing in Brazil, in what appears to be its production ready form. The Kicks was believed to be in the production stage, before its spy shots came up. The manufacturer has already revealed that the Kicks will be based on their V-Platform, which also accommodates other important products like the Micra, Note and Sunny. The technical specifications of this crossover are speculated to include a 1.6L flex-fuel engine, with unfortunately no further notification pertaining to its power, torque and mileage.
It is logically believed that this Compact SUV will bear strong similarities with the Nissan Juke, owing to the fact that both these creations share an identical design and dimensions. The dimension of Kicks measures to be 4.3 metres long in the concept form, that makes it conspicuously longer than the 4125mm Juke. However, it is little shorter than the 4370mm Qashqai.
The Nissan Kicks Concept first made its debut in the year 2014 at the Sao Paulo Motor Show. After that it was also presented at the Buenos Aires Motor Show in the same year. In addition, it had been developed and calibrated by the Nissan's Global Design Center, situated in Japan, and was originated through an association between Nissan Design America (NDA) in San Diego and Nissan Design America - Rio (NDA-R), that is supposed to be the company's local satellite design studio.
Now that this stud has been seen out on the roads, we are in high hopes that it will soon give a sneak peek in the Philippines compact SUV market too.
