Nissan Kicks e-Power clocks in at 28.1-kpl during club drive

MANILA: Nissan Philippines took members of the Nissan Kicks e-Power Club of the Philippines to a drive from Manila to Clark where the Kicks e-Power was able to log a 28.1 kilometers per liter reading for the said trip.

The group — who were celebrating its first anniversary — participated in an economy drive to push the limits of their crossover’s efficiency.

According to Nissan Philippines, the club drive started at the brand’s dealership facility at North EDSA (Epifanio de los Santos Avenue), followed by a pit stop at Marilao, Bulacan.

Club members and economy drive participants had a full gas tank, traveled at their own pace, and employed different strategies and techniques to make the most out of each drop of fuel before ending the drive at the Hilton Clark Sun Valley Resort.

The contest winners are as follows:

• Plaridel Arvin Ramos – 28.1 kilometer per liters (kpl)
• Derrick Tan Uy – 27.7 kpl
• Marc Ernest Manasan – 27.7 kpl
• Charly Untalan – 27.5 kpl
• Jel Directo – 27.5 kpl

“We are grateful to Nissan Philippines Inc. for turning this Eco Run into a reality. This event is a big milestone for everyone, and we couldn't have accomplished it without their help. The route consisted of both highway and city driving to make for a more realistic daily driving scenario and the scores achieved exceeded our expectations. We were also able to educate fellow members on how to drive their Kicks efficiently while still keeping the fun factor of driving one,” Nissan Kicks e-Power Club of the Philippines President Derrick Tan Uy commented.

The winners were awarded by Nissan Philippines President Juan Manuel Hoyos.

“Today is more than just a celebration of a remarkable vehicle. It’s a celebration of a collective vision for a more sustainable and electrifying future on our roads. I congratulate the Kicks e-Power Club of the Philippines on their first anniversary and I hope to see many more of these events led by our passionate club members,” Hoyos noted.

The Nissan Kicks e-Power is propelled by a 1.2-liter, three-cylinder, gasoline engine mated to an automatic single-speed gear reduction transmission. It also employs the help of an AC Synchronous Motor paired with a 213-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery.

• Nissan Kicks e-Power EL – P1.239 million
• Nissan Kicks e-Power VE – P1.339 million
• Nissan Kicks e-Power VL – P1.539 million

To cap off the driving experience, Nissan took Kicks e-Power Club of the Philippines members to Duyan ni Maria Children’s Home. The group donated pairs of athletic shoes to the organization.
