PNP receives 5 Hyundai Stargazer units from HMPH

MANILA: Hyundai Motor Philippines Incorporated (HMPH) recently strengthened its partnership with Philippine National Police (PNP) following the handover of five Stargazer Premium units.

HMPH executives Jiho Son (president), Cecil Capacete (managing director), and Hongshik Chin (chief finance officer) formally turned over the vehicles to PNP Chief Police General Rommel Francisco Marbil, Police Colonel Jaime Serina III, Police Major General Mario Reyes, in front of the PNP Command Group. The ceremony was conducted last November 27 at Camp Crame in Quezon City.
“As you know, the Philippine National Police plays a vital role in maintaining peace and order in our communities. Which is why we at Hyundai are deeply committed to providing modern, efficient, and reliable vehicles that can help strengthen the PNP's operations, and allow them to respond more swiftly and effectively to the needs of our citizens,” Son said in his special message.
“The Hyundai Stargazer is a perfect embodiment of this commitment – combining advanced technology, comfort, and reliability to meet the demands of mobility for public service. This makes it an ideal choice for the PNP, serving as both a practical vehicle for daily operations, while also ensuring the safety and comfort of our police personnel as they carry out their duties,” he added.
For his part, Marbil noted that the vehicles are aimed at bolstering PNP Command Group and the Directorate for Logistics’ administrative operations.
“With enhanced mobility and efficiency, these vehicles empower our personnel to focus on fulfilling their duties to serve and protect the Filipino people. Let us continue to uphold our vision of ‘Mahusay, Matatag, at Maasahan na Kapulisan’ – a modern Filipino Police Force for a modern Filipino society. Together, with steadfast partnerships and unwavering commitment to public service, we are building a brighter, safer tomorrow,” he explained.
Prior to the donation of the vehicles, HMPH and PNP partnered for the extension of aftersales support by providing free two-year periodic maintenance service for the police force’s fleet of Hyundai vehicles — ensuring their overall roadworthiness.
Stargazer Premium specifications
Below are the notable details about the donated vehicles.
The Hyundai Stargazer Premium comes as the nameplate’s top-of-the-line variant — sitting on top of the GLS and GL trims.
It measures 4,460 millimeters long; 1,780 mm wide; and 1,695 mm tall — with a 2,780-mm wheelbase and 185-mm ground clearance.
Outside, the multi-purpose vehicle wears a distinct front grille in black and chrome coating flanked by its pair of LED headlamps with daytime running lights, and bulb fog lamps.
Its side profile allows owners to appreciate the one-curve silhouette complemented by the chromed door handles as well as the 16-inch two-tone alloy wheels. Further, the vehicle’s rear portion features an H-signature taillamp design and a high mount stop lamp fitted onto the spoiler.
Welcoming the driver and passengers are the leatherette-covered seats on all three rows. Dividing the space at the front is the center armrest. Its door handles match the chrome trimmings outside.
Outfitted at the center of the dashboard is an eight-inch touchscreen display with Android Auto, Apple Carplay and Bluetooth connectivity. It is paired to a six-speaker setup.
