Q8 among featured models in Audi Factory Warehouse Sale 2.0

MANILA: Ongoing until the end of August, the Audi Factory Warehouse Sale 2.0 promo features generous discounts (of more than P1 million in some cases) on 2020 models, including the brand’s flagship Q8 SUV.

“With a wheelbase stretching almost three meters, the Audi Q8 3.0 TFSI MHEV’s interior space exceeds those of its direct competitors in almost all relevant dimensions, and thus offers luxurious space for five people. And while allowing for the convenient versatility of a large SUV, the Audi Q8 also possesses the elegance of a four-door luxury coupe,” said Audi Philippines in a release.

The company points to generous cabin space, flexible luggage compartment, high-tech operating, suspension, and assistance systems and technologies make the Q8 “a compelling companion for business and leisure.”

Inside the Audi Q8 is an MMI touch response display featuring a 10.1-inch screen for controlling the infotainment and the navigation system. Another 8.6-inch display, situated at the lower part of the dash, allows the driver to adjust ventilation, air-conditioning, and comfort functions, as well as key in text. “Both high-resolution touch displays need almost no buttons or knobs, and offer haptic and acoustic feedback,” said Audi Philippines.

An octagonal Singleframe grille is fringed by distinctive headlights, a coupe-style roof line, frameless doors, and Quattro blisters calling to mind those on the original Audi Quattro. It boasts a short rear overhang, high ground clearance, and huge wheels.

Under the hood is a turbocharged, 3.0-liter, six-cylinder TFSI gasoline engine with spark-ignition serving up 340hp and 500Nm realized between 1,370 rpm and 4,500rpm. The Q8 is said to be able to reach 100kph from standstill in 5.9 seconds.

The SUV features a mild hybrid system with a lithium-ion battery and a belt alternator starter (BAS) to supply the 48V main electrical system. “When decelerating, BAS enables up to 12kW of energy to be recovered and feeds this into the battery. At speeds between 55kph and 160kph, the stored energy is used to let the Audi Q8 coast for up to 40 seconds with the engine switched off (BAS seamlessly restarts the engine when the throttle is reapplied),“ reported Audi. Drivers access the performance via an eight-speed tiptronic transmission and a Quattro permanent all-wheel drive unit.
