The Bentley Bentayga Extended Wheelbase focuses on wellness

MANILA: The Bentayga Extended Wheelbase (EWB), a new grand touring sports utility vehicle (SUV) that draws on the capabilities of the Bentayga to become a new luxury flagship, represents a new focus on wellness to Bentley's model range, expanding the current product line to five models.

The Bentayga EWB is the product of a nine-figure investment by Bentley to produce a new model that offers the finest rear cabin experience since a Mulsanne, while maintaining the Bentley trademarks of smooth performance, superb handcraftsmanship, and limitless personalization.

Since its debut in 2015, the Bentayga has established and fostered the expansion of the luxury SUV sector. It has proven its worth over the last seven years with true off-road capability, hybrid technology, record-breaking performance, and bespoke specifications. It remains to be  Bentley's top-selling model, and has set the standard by which other luxury SUVs are measured. The Bentayga EWB raises the bar once more.

When the EWB hits the market later this year, it will account for up to 45% of Bentayga sales. As a result, the Bentayga will continue to be Bentley's best-selling model and the world's most popular luxury SUV.

The Bentayga EWB adds 180mm to the wheelbase and rear cabin space of the latest second-generation Bentayga. Bentley's design team guaranteed the lines and dimensions continue to emanate style and presence with body-in-white revisions to the underfloor, side panels, door, and roof. The car's wheelbase has increased from 2,995mm to 3,175mm, with an overall length of 5,322 mm. The extra length is entirely in the rear door, resulting in a very comfortable rear area. Remarkable trips are ensured with more cabin space than any other luxury competitor, a focus on wellness, and the world's first auto climate and advanced postural adjustment rear seat.

In a statement, Bentley Motors Chairman and Chief Executive Adrian Hallmark said, “The Bentayga Extended Wheelbase is our first car truly dedicated to the onboard wellness of its occupants. Every Bentley gets you to your destination feeling more relaxed than when you started your journey, and yet with the Extended Wheelbase we’ve been able to go even further thanks to the adoption of world-first wellness technology embedded within our unrivaled interior cabin design. In combination with the incredible skills of the craftspeople at our carbon-neutral factory in Crewe, these advances make the Bentayga Extended Wheelbase the ultimate luxury SUV to drive or be driven in.”

Under the Bentayga EWB’s hood is a 4.0-liter, 32-valve dual twin-scroll turbocharged V8 petrol engine paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The V8 produces 542bhp and 770Nm of torque, resulting in a top speed of 290kph and a standstill-to-100kph acceleration in 4.6 seconds.

The Bentayga EWB will be offered in two enhanced specifications at launch. The Azure features a stunning and classic design with unique trademarks that promote optimal comfort and well-being while driving. A 22-inch ten-spoke directional wheel, bright lower bumper grilles, and Azure embroidery and badging are among the special features. Other features include unique quilted seats, mood lighting, a heated steering wheel, and upgraded driver assistance aids.

Meanwhile, the First Edition specification comes with Bentley Diamond Illumination, metal overlays in the veneer, Naim for Bentley Premium Audio, and LED welcome lamps. This is a highly exclusive model, with unique embroidery, inlays, and badging.
