The Mercedes-Benz UX in the S-Class is a multisensory experience
MANILA: Mercedes-Benz has taken the MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) to the next level as it engages your sense of sight, touch, and hearing in the new S-Class.
Only in its second-generation, the MBUX gets improved hardware and software, larger OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) screens, and numerous personalization options to make voice commands more conversational and its use more intuitive.
Some of the new features include a 3D driver display for a spatial view and three-dimensional effect without 3D glasses, certain commands can be delivered without the activation keyword “Hey Mercedes” like accepting a telephone call or displaying the navigation map, and the use of cameras for Interior Assist (if the system detects that the occupant wants to leave, it checks the blind spot and uses active ambient lighting to warn the occupant).
Aside from using a PIN (personal identification number) for access, fingerprint, face and voice recognition are now combined. Up to seven different profiles can be stored in the MBUX and in the cloud via Mercedes me. It now supports 27 languages, which allows a more natural interaction on a wide range of topics.
If the driver says "I'm tired," an activation program of energizing comfort control is started. When uttered by the rear passenger, it will start the starts wellbeing program.
Certain commands can even be done without uttering a word. Opening the sliding sunroof only requires a hand gesture.
The appearance of the screens can even be individualized with a choice of four display styles (Discreet, Sporty, Exclusive, Classic) and three modes (Navigation, Assistance, Service).
