The Montero Sport gets Mitsubishi's Black Series treatment

MANILA: Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) officially launches the Montero Sport Black Series.

The brand’s latest range of Black Series models was introduced through the Xpander first in November 2021, soon followed by the Strada Athlete, and now its seven-seater SUV.

The Montero Sport Black Series is made unique by a blacked-out grille, headlamp extensions, and bumper garnish. The upper half of the SUV comes with a black roof rail and spoiler.

The White Diamond color option comes with a black roof, which provides a two-tone design with the all-black concept, which also includes the rear bumper garnish and 18-inch alloy wheels.

Aside from white, the Montero Sport Black Series is also available in  a Jet Black Mica color. Retail price is at P1.981 million, with P15,000 added for the White Diamond.

Included in the Montero Sport Black Series equipment list are a 2.4-liter turbodiesel engine, second- and third-row seats which can be configured to accommodate various cargo loads, and active and passive safety features. 

These safety features are the following: Ultrasonic Misacceleration Mitigation System (UMS), Forward Collision Mitigation System (FCM), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), and Active Stability And Traction Control (ASTC).

Alongside the interior that is said to use premium materials, the SUV's climate system features Nanoe air-purifying particles. 
Nanoe is a particulate ion that not only deodorizes but has the added benefit of inhibiting bacteria and allergens inside the vehicle.

"Black symbolizes power, elegance and sophistication. With the addition of the Montero Sport in our Black Series collection, we wish to appeal to a market that intends to project the same characteristics at the same time give them an SUV that is built to handle anything,” MMPC President and CEO Takeshi Hara said.
