Volkswagen Tiguan Offroad introduced

MANILA: The Volkswagen Tiguan Offroad had made an appearance at the Moscow Motor Show a couple of months back. Following that, the car has been introduced officially in some selected markets. It gets a similar styling trace to the standard Tiguan.

The new Tiguan Offroad comes with 18-inch Sebring wheels (alloy) as standard. However, it can be opted with 19-inch and 20-inch alloy wheels that are optional. It would be available six colors options, which are Pure White, Pure Grey, Indium Grey Metallic, Atlantic Blue Metallic, Oryx White Pearl, and Tungsten Silver Metallic. Buyers can even get a dual tone exterior scheme by opting for the “Offroad Plus” kit.

Other aesthetic highlights are the uniquely styled bumpers at both ends that have the skid plates integrated on them. The roof rails and rear-view mirror covers are made with blacked out chrome. As for the illumination, there is an Active Lighting System with Dynamic Light Assists and cornering lights.

The setting inside the cabin is very clean and amazing. The seats are wrapped in Austin fabric upholstery, while the gear knob and steering wheel have leather covers on them. The pedals near the foot are made with stainless steel, while the floor mats are of rubber.

Under the hood, the Volkswagen Offroad is available in both petrol and diesel guise. The two gas engines include the 1.4-litre TSI making 150 PS and 2.0-litre TSI making 180 PS of power. As for the diesel option, there is a 2.0-litre turbocharged motor making 150 PS of power. Doing the transmission duties is a 7-speed DSG gearbox mated to 4Motion all-wheel drive as standard.

The new Tiguan Offroad has a 24-degree ramp angle that can offer good all-terrain prowess, if not the best. Plus, for the assistance of the driver, the car has an Active Control feature that enables switching between offroad, on road and snow modes with just a button.

As of now, it has been given a price tag of 40,925 euros in Germany, which amounts to around Php 2,500,000.
