    Test results

    The five-door small sport utility vehicle (SUV) got the following scores under these four categories:

    • Adult occupant protection: 88 percent
    • Child occupant protection: 85 percent
    • Vulnerable road users: 79 percent
    • Safety assist: 80 percent

    According to the assessors, the results are valid for the model’s left- and right-hand-drive versions.

    The vehicle manufacturer expressed pride over the rating that the Volvo EX30 got in the program.

    “As our smallest SUV, the EX30 is as safe as you’d expect from a Volvo car. With safety systems developed through our unique safety knowledge gained from research in real-world accidents for over 50 years, it is designed to help protect its driver and passengers in the event of a crash in real life,” the company explained.

    “It does so through modern restraint technology, as well as a structural design that fulfills our pioneering in-house safety requirements. These ambitious requirements often exceed official testing requirements and are designed to prepare our cars for various real-world scenarios which can sometimes be far more complicated than standardized testing,” it added.

    Further, Volvo noted that the EX30 comes with a suite of advanced active safety features designed to help mitigate collisions or risks. This includes advanced driver alert system, automatic brake intervention feature, and door opening alert.

    In November 2024Volvo Cars Philippines launched the EX30 for the local market. Offered in Ultra Extended Range trim, the model is priced at P2.99 million.

    Outside, the vehicle’s noteworthy features include the eye-catching Thor’s Hammer LED headlamps that borders its seamless fascia, 19-inch, geometric wheels wrapped in 245/45 series tires, black claddings under the doors, dark-hued panoramic roof.

    Inside, the SUV is fitted with a flat-top, flat-bottom multi-function steering wheel, seats with lumbar support, and a 12.3-inch central display that acts as an infotainment system and a digital gauge cluster. The entertainment system is paired with a Harman Kardon premium sound set-up.

    Propelling the rear-wheel-drive Volvo EX30 is an electric motor-automatic transmission combination. The aforementioned powertrain can generate up to 272 horses and 343 Newton-meters of torque.
