2019 Honda Gold Wing, CB1000R and CB650R launched in the Philippines
MANILA: Following the preview at EICMA 2018, Honda, the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer has launched 3 big bikes in the Philippines. At EICMA 2018, the Honda motorcycles were received very well and the wish of getting their hands on the newest offerings by Honda has finally been fulfilled. Honda has come snaring in the Philippine market with the 2019 Gold Wing, CB1000R, and the CB650R.
The launch event was held at Honda Safety Driving Center (HSDC) and personalities like Masayuki Igarashi, the president and CEO of Asian Honda Company and Susumu Mitsuishi, the president of Honda Philippines were also present. “These big bikes will be made available in major Honda stores nationwide, complete with a reliable service support,” said Masayuki Igarashi. He also asserted the fact that the demand for big bikes in the Philippines has been increasing in recent years and we have fulfilled the wishes as quickly as possible.
The biggest launch, the 2019 Honda Gold Wing has been a heart throbber since its arrival in the industry. The touring motorcycle offers comfort, power, safety, and styling all in one single package. Now narrower and much more nimble than the outgoing model, the Gold Wing doesn’t come with too many updates, however, the subtle re-touches have given the motorcycle a new life.
Powering the 2019 Gold Wing is a 1,800 cc SOHC horizontally opposed 6-pot motor which is coupled with a seven-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) unit. 2019 Gold Wing price, which is Php 1,880,000 also get you advanced features like Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), electronic suspension pre-load, cruise control, slipper clutch, four riding modes (Tour, Sport, Rain, and Econ), hill-start assist, walking/reverse mode, keyless ignition, and even airbags.
In the segment which already had the likes of CB1100EX, Honda has thrown in another offering. Honda CB1000R Neo Sports Café is a retro-styled naked streetfighter which is calm yet aggressive. It gets old school elements like a round headlamp with LED lighting, cowl made up of lightweight aluminium and a flangeless fuel tank. It is powered by a 998 cc liquid-cooled in-line-four engine which makes 150 PS at 10,500 rpm and 104 Nm at 8,250 rpm. The motorcycle provides ample power, great handling, and amazing comfort. A throttle-by-wire system, full LCD, multiple riding modes, and a radial-mounted dual-disc brake are the other notable features on the Honda CB1000R Neo Sports Café. The naked litre bike has been priced at Php 865,000.
Middleweight segment is the place where the real competition exists. The motorcycle in this category are powerful, light on the pocket, and offer great comfort and handling too. The CB650R Neo Sports Café is the younger sibling of the CB1000R Neo Sports Café. The motorcycle houses a 649 cc liquid-cooled, four-pot engine and boasts similar retro-modern design language like the elder sibling. The naked middle segment streetfighter comes with some sweet features like a stylish 4-2-1 exhaust system, an LCD panel, Showa Separate Function front suspension (SSF), four-piston radial-mount brake callipers, and an assist/slipper clutch. The retro-modern bike will set you back by a little Php 501,000.
