BMW M3 Sedan Competition

The cabin layout of the BMW M3 Sedan Competition has been shared with the 3-series sedan. While it was pretty much expected, BMW has managed to make the cabin of the sportier M3 stand out with a host of added visual enhancers. One can choose from the eight different leather M sports seats or eight different leather M carbon bucket seats, in addition to the choices of eight BMW Individual leather upholstery options, eight interior trim finisher options, and eight BMW Individual interior trim finishers.

The BMW M3 Sedan Competition was the first BMW M car to receive the new-generation M-specific full TFT 12.3-inch instrument console, which displays all the necessary information with sportier-looking graphics. A part of BMW’s new generation live cockpit professional, this instrument console screen is accompanied by the latest-generation 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which operates on the BMW OS 7. The top-class and expensive-looking cabin of the BMW M3 Sedan Competition also features a 12-speaker Harman-Kardon audio system with subwoofer and amplifier, wireless charger, heated and ventilated seats, three-zone automatic climate control with rear AC vents, carbon fibre inserts on the dashboard and door panels, head-up display, and frameless auto-dimming rearview mirror.

Enhancing the driver and passenger experience further, the M3 Sedan Competition includes ambient lighting with customizable colors and intensities, creating a luxurious and inviting atmosphere. The current BMW M3 Sedan Competition is easily the most dramatic-looking version of the M3 model produced ever, and a bit controversial too. The huge vertically-laid double kidney grille, which differentiates the M3 from other versions of the BMW 3-Series at the front, draws some polarized opinions and is a love-it-or-hate-it affair. The front profile looks sleek and complete with dull laser LED headlamps, horizontal M typical double louvres, and a front splitter.

Shared with the 3-Series sedan, the side profile of the BMW M3 Sedan Competition is enhanced further by the choice of sportier-looking 19 and 20-inch wheels. The air scoops recessed in the front fender complement the sporty aura of the car, and so do the re-profiled rear bumper with sportier-looking exhaust tips, rear splitter, and thin gloss black boot-mounted spoiler. The rest of the rear profile of the M3 Sedan Competition looks familiar, with the sleek-looking LED tail lamps and boot lid design shared with the regular 3-Series sedan. BMW has further made the M3 Sedan Competition look exclusive with a carbon fibre reinforced plastic roof and mirrors.

Adding to its aggressive stance, the M3 Sedan Competition features flared wheel arches and pronounced side skirts that enhance its muscular appearance. The aerodynamic enhancements, including the front air vents and rear diffuser, not only contribute to its sporty aesthetics but also improve its performance by reducing drag and increasing downforce. The sharp lines and bold contours running along the body give the car a dynamic and agile look, while the optional matte and metallic paint finishes further elevate its visual appeal. The BMW M3 Sedan Competition comes standard with the BMW M xDrive all-wheel drive system with an active M differential. This all-wheel-drive system, along with adaptive M suspension with Comfort, Sport and Sport+ drive modes, make the BMW M3 Sedan Competition a hoot to drive with high-level steering and sport-tuned suspension feedback at faster speeds.  

Under its swooping hood, the BMW M3 Sedan Competition packs in a 3.0-litre turbocharged six-cylinder petrol engine, one of the finest and most powerful engines from BMW at present. This engine is coupled to an 8-speed automatic gearbox and produces a maximum power output of 530 bhp and a maximum torque output of 650 Nm. The BMW M3 Sedan Competition claims a 0-100 kmph timing of 3.5 seconds, a fuel efficiency of 9.9 kmpl and a top speed of 250 kmph, which can be raised further to 290 kmph with the M Driver’s package.

The BMW M3 Sedan Competition packs in state-of-the-art safety features like M Laptimer, steering and lane control assistant, emergency stop assistant, lane keeping assistant, M Drift Analyzer, M Track mode, 10-level M Traction Control, active side collision protection, 360-degree panorama view camera and active park assist, besides offering essentials like eight airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, traction control, hill start assist and more.
