Maserati Grecale Interior & Features
Maserati has gone one notch up for the interior themes for the Grecale, which looks plush and premium, while also having an up-to-date look with the most recent features and design trends on offer. The cabin layout looks elegant and only gets better with components and features like a 12.3-inch full-TFT instrument console, and a new-generation chunky-looking three-spoke steering wheel for the driver’s cockpit.
Moving towards the centre console, the cabin of the Maserati Grecale has a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an 8.8-inch TFT touchpad for various drive and climate controls placed vertically in the middle. There’s a rounded TFT digital clock at the top of the centre console, which gives the cabin a classy touch.
Other premium features offered in all three versions of the Maserati Grecale are powered, heated and ventilated front seats, multi-zone automatic climate control with rear AC vents, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, Sonus Faber sound system and more. The three versions of the Grecale feel different with the choice of colours and stitching for the leather upholstery.
Grecale Exterior
In all of its three versions, the Maserati Grecale remains a visual treat, with each version having its personality, while keeping the Italian flair intact. For an SUV, the Maserati Grecale is not too tall or has the intimidation, but has a decent height and an aerodynamic design which makes it look fast and beautiful even while it is at rest.
The front profile of the Maserati Grecale looks classy with a curvaceous bonnet, which flows down to the trademark rounded grille. Positioned a bit lower, this grille has the trademark Trident logo, while also having vertical slats within it. The Grecale also has sleek-looking headlamps and boomerang-shaped segmented LED DRLs, which further increase the flashiness of the front profile. All three versions of the Grecale have different-looking designs for the front and rear bumpers, with the Trofeo having the sportiest design for them.
The Maserati Grecale has a slightly low-slung stance, with the SUV having curved contours from front to rear, making it look more like a crossover than a traditional upright SUV. The front fenders and door panels are characterised by smooth curves, while the rear fender has a smooth hump over the rounded wheel arches. All three versions of Grecale get different types and themes for the 20-inch alloy wheels and tri-bar design element on the front fenders.
The rear profile of the Maserati Grecale has a coupe-ish essence in its design, with the SUV having a steeply-raked curved windscreen and boot lid. The sleekness of the rear profile is further strengthened by the combination of LED tail lamps. Among the three versions, the Trofeo has carbon fibre inserts for some components, which are finished in chrome in the GT and gloss black in the Modena versions.
Maserati Grecale Ride & Handling
There are four drive modes on offer in all three versions of the Maserati Grecale – Comfort, GT, Sport and Off-Road, with the Trofeo version also getting an additional Corsa mode addition for an extra touch of sportiness in its driving appeal. An air suspension package is available as standard in the Trofeo while being on offer as an option in GT and Moden versions.
Grecale Engine & Fuel Consumption
Mainly, there are two powertrain options across the lineup of Maserati Grecale. The GT version is powered by a 2.0-litre inline-four engine, which makes 300 PS of power and 450 Nm of torque. The Modena version is powered by the same 2.0-litre engine, which here claims 330 PS of power and 450 Nm of torque. The Trofeo version gets the most performance-oriented 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine, which produces 530 PS of power and 620 Nm of torque. An 8-speed automatic transmission is offered as standard in all three versions.
Maserati Grecale Braking & Safety
The Maserati Grecale is stuffed with all the modern advanced safety features like automated emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist recognition, active driving assist, blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, surround-view camera, adaptive cruise control, park assist with rear active braking, traffic sign recognition, active lane management, intersection collision assist, drowsy driving detection and intelligent speed assist, apart from the essentials like airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, hill start assist, hill descent control and more.
Grecale Verdict
A radical departure from the traditional upright SUVs, the Maserati Grecale has impressive coupe-inspired styling, while having a supremely luxurious and well-equipped cabin and bonkers performance as add-ons in its desirability.
