Peugeot Traveller Premium

For a large three-row MPV of this size and category, the Peugeot Traveller Premium impresses with the quality levels and amount of features it offers. The overall cabin layout looks simple and is nowhere as dramatic as the cabins of SUVs from Peugeot, but it is a thoughtfully designed cabin with everything in your easy reach.

The driver’s cockpit of the Peugeot Traveller Premium looks fairly simple with a three-spoke multi-functional steering wheel and a part-analogue instrument console. However, what’s surprising here is a retractable 3.5-inch coloured head-up display above the instrument console. The upper part of the centre console accommodates a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with vertical AC vents, all arranged in a single housing. The lower centre console has a systematically arranged panel for automatic climate control and push start-stop button, along with a transmission lever.

All the three rows of seats made of Claudia leather offer an incredible amount of space, with an immense amount of boot space on offer as well. The second and third row of seats can be removed to make the Peugeot Traveller Premium a proper load carrying vehicle.

The Peugeot Traveller Premium gets a conventional boxy-looking design, which has become a traditional design language for people movers of this type. However, the honest design attempts from Peugeot at the front of this MPV prevent it from being boring in the way it looks.

At the front, the Peugeot Traveller Premium has a small trapezoidal grille, which is positioned slightly higher, gets surrounded by chrome and has vertical slats on the inside. The inverted C-shaped headlamps with projector bulbs on the outer corners are also positioned slightly higher than usual, which makes the front profile of the Peugeot Traveller Premium look a bit taller. The added muscular appeal at the lower part of the front profile is due to the large air dam spread across the width of the front bumper, which also houses fog lamps and boomerang-shaped daytime running LEDs on the corners.

Move towards the side, and it is where the true MPV-ish roots of the Peugeot Traveller Premium start appearing. The wheel arches get prominent rounded curves over them, while machined alloy wheels are something which is usually not present on MPVs of this category and is surely welcoming additions to the overall package. The large side window panels work well in making the Peugeot Traveller Premium look huge while enhancing the sense of space on the inside.

At the back, the Peugeot Traveller Premium lacks the genuineness of the design of the front profile, as the rear profile looks plain and simple. The vertical tail lamps with rounded upper and lower edges placed on the outer corners and rectangular windscreen and license plate housing complete the design of the MPV at the rear.

With such a large footprint and a boxy design, the Peugeot Traveller Premium is by no means a vehicle meant for driving enthusiasts. Instead, it offers a plush ride quality to all of its occupants, which is best enjoyed at both lower and higher speeds.

The Peugeot Traveller Premium is available in the Philippines with a single powertrain combination of a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine and a 6-speed automatic gearbox. This engine suits the character of this MPV and produces a maximum power output of 150 bhp and a peak torque output of 370 Nm.

The Peugeot Traveller Premium impresses with its decently long list of features as well, with the MPV getting front and side airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist, electronic stability program, blind spot assist, driver attention alert, hill climb assist, front and rear parking sensors, 180-degree reverse camera and tire pressure detection system.

While the Peugeot Traveller Premium might look boring and basic at first, a closer look at it reveals that it is a premium and well-sorted vehicle for both private and commercial buyers.
