Benelli VZ 125I Design
The Benelli VZ 125i is a sleek and sharp-looking scooter, which looks proportionate from whichever angle you look at it. While it does not create any new benchmark in terms of design, it assures you that it is one of the best-looking 125cc scooters you can buy in the country today.
The Benelli VZ 125i has a pointy front profile, which looks tall and slim, with a rakish and edgy-looking front apron giving it an in-your-face impression. The apron here has a triple-tone treatment, with its uppermost portion having a gloss-black V-shaped element accommodating the Benelli badge on it. Then comes the wide V-shaped body-coloured panel below it, which comes adorned with graphics. And finally, there is another V-shaped matte black panel below it, which includes the almost square-shaped all-LED headlamp with daytime running LEDs and LED turn indicators positioned on both of its sides.
Moving towards the side profile, the Benelli VZ 125i continues its theme of sleekness and sharpness in its overall design. The slim body panels and pointy-looking side extensions of the front apron, which flow towards the floorboard, give it an impression of a sporty-looking scooter. The back portion of the front apron has decent space for a bottle holder and gets a tow hook as well. Despite its compact dimensions, the long seat of the Benelli VZ 125i assures you that two full-sized adults can sit with ease.
At the back, the Benelli VZ 125i has a compact design comprising of an LED tail lamp, which along with the clear lens turn indicators flanking it, are placed on the back of a raised tail section. It gets a long rear fender and split pillion grab rails, which complete the design of the scooter at the back. The Benelli VZ 125i also gets a fully digital LCD instrument console, which shows readouts for the speedometer, odometer, trip meter and fuel gauge. For its price, the Benelli VZ 125i has decent levels of fit and finish.
VZ 125I Ride & Handling
The Benelli VZ 125i is a slim-looking scooter, and taking its lightweight chassis into account, the scooter feels nimble to ride as well. The scooter comes with a suspension setup comprising hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and a single-sided hydraulic coil spring at the back. The scooter rides on 70/90-14 front and 80/90-14 rear tyres, with it getting a pair of front disc and rear drum brakes. The Benelli VZ 125i measures 1820mm long, 700mm wide and 1060mm tall while having a wheelbase of 1280mm, a seat height of 750mm and a ground clearance of 137mm.
Benelli VZ 125I Engine & Fuel Consumption
The Benelli VZ 125i sources its power from a compact four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 124cc engine, which produces a maximum power output of 8.6 PS and a peak torque output of 9.2 Nm. For a 125cc engine, the Benelli VZ 125i’s powertrain is decently powerful, with the light kerb weight of 97 kg giving it an impressive power-to-weight ratio. However, we would have loved to see better refinement levels in this engine, especially at higher RPMs.
VZ 125I Braking & Safety
The Benelli VZ 125i is a cost-effective scooter targeted at the masses, which is why it doesn’t come equipped with premium safety features. However, it does come equipped with decent under-seat storage space for a half-face helmet and a parking brake for the rear brake lever.
Benelli VZ 125I Verdict
For those riders who are new to scooters and want a flashy-looking, low-cost scooter, the Benelli VZ 125i makes up for a strong case for them.
