MV Agusta Dragster 800 Design

The MV Agusta Dragster is easily one of the most outrageous-looking naked roadsters on sale, with this middleweight motorcycle having the right muscle, curves and edges all around that make it extremely eye-catching and imposing. The overall design makes the MV Agusta Dragster look purposeful as an outright performance-oriented motorcycle, with form prioritised over practicality.

The frontal profile of the MV Agusta Dragster has a slanted ovular headlamp, that comes with LED illumination and red-coloured X-themed inserts within it while having daytime running LED light around its circumference. This slanted headlamp has sleek-looking LED turn indicators with red inserts to its sides and a crown-themed visor above it, which has a dual-tone black and silver finish in the RR SCS variant and a dual-tone red and black finish in the RC SCS variant. The minimalist front fender of the MV Agusta Dragster also gets a satin silver clamp around the lower part of the front forks.

The MV Agusta Dragster exposes its extreme muscularity in its side profile, where the brawny-looking fuel tank catches one’s attention with its sloping knee recesses, scooped air inlets on the upper front edges and curved tank extensions on the lower front edges. Adding more muscularity to the side profile of the MV Agusta Dragster is the fully-exposed, blacked-themed engine, exposed trellis frame, massive engine belly pan and vertically-stacked triple exhaust setup with angular cuts for the ports.

The MV Agusta Dragster rides on black-coloured alloy wheels, with the rear wheel having a unique-looking wheel cover that adds more extremity to the side profile. The floating tail section of the Dragster is another element that makes the motorcycle look very extrovert, with a curved single seat above it and a wide and curved, W-themed LED tail lamp cluster with integrated LED turn indicators within it. There are floating pillion grab handles below the tail section, but the pillion seat doesn’t look comfortable enough due to its compact and slanted design.

The MV Agusta Dragster has a rectangular 5.5-inch full-TFT instrument console, which has become a standard part of almost all the offerings from the Italian brand. With multiple display modes, this screen packs a speedometer, odometer, trip meters, tachometer, temperature gauge, fuel gauge and other details of the trip computer. Quality levels on the MV Agusta Dragster are exceptional, justifying its premium positioning in the middleweight category.

Dragster 800 Ride & Handling

Based on an ALS steel tubular frame, the MV Agusta Dragster features a Marzocchi upside-down telescopic hydraulic fork with anodized fork legs, rebound-compression damping and spring preload external and separate adjustment at the front and Progressive, Sachs single shock absorber with rebound and compression damping and spring preload adjustment at the rear for the suspension duties.

With this sport-tuned suspension, the MV Agusta Dragster feels sharp and agile in its cornering abilities, while holding its ground firmly while pushing hard on straights. The ride quality, though, takes a hit due to the stiff suspension setup. The MV Agusta Dragster comes equipped with dual 320mm disc brakes at the front and a single 220mm disc at the rear for braking and 120/70 ZR17 front and 200/55 ZR17 rear tyres.

MV Agusta Dragster 800 Engine & Fuel Consumption

Both the variants of the MV Agusta Dragster are powered by a four-stroke, liquid-cooled, inline-three, 798cc engine, which has been shared with the F3 range of superport bikes. Mated to a 6-speed transmission, this 798cc engine churns out a maximum power output of 140 PS and a maximum torque output of 87 Nm, making the MV Agusta Dragster one of the most powerful middleweight naked roadsters on sale.

Dragster 800 Braking & Safety

Equipped with a 6-axis inertial measurement unit, the MV Agusta Dragster features riding aids like cornering ABS, cornering traction control, front lift control, cruise control, launch control, and four riding modes—Sport, Race, Rain, and Custom. It also comes with a manually adjustable steering damper with eight different settings.

MV Agusta Dragster 800 Verdict

With its hardcore styling, performance, and handling abilities, the MV Agusta Dragster might not be for everyone, but it is for those who wish to have extremes in every component and aspect of their motorcycles.
