Cabin check: What’s inside the BYD Atto 3

Filipino car buyers are quickly getting familiar with electric cars. And one of the models that is increasingly gaining attention from many hopeful adopters is the BYD Atto 3.

That said, we take a quick look at what one may find inside this electric vehicle (EV) and help those on the fence decide to switch to a more sustainable means of moving.

Impressive screens

Two of the most notable features offered by the BYD Atto 3 are its impressive screens.

Facing the driver is a five-inch digital instrument cluster that provides the person behind the wheel with relevant information. The panel is compact enough that one can see the displayed details without having to peek over the crossover’s flat-bottom steering wheel.

Basic driving data like the running speed, time, and temperature are shown in the instrument panel. More importantly, EV-specific elements such as regenerative braking, battery level, and the driving mode can be seen by checking this monitor.

On the other hand, a 12.8-inch intelligent touchscreen infotainment system takes center stage. It has Bluetooth connectivity as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A voice assistant is also available for a more convenient means of operating the futuristic screen.

The said infotainment panel also rotates to allow either a portrait or landscape-style display. The screen is quite responsive and the interface is easy to understand.

A wealth of leather

The BYD Atto 3’s interior is swathed with leather materials that not only give the vehicle an upmarket appeal but also make it a comfortable space to be in.

All the seats are swathed in soft synthetic leather hide that plays with blue and white hues. Perforations are applied to the said seats for breathability making them great for driving both under the scorching sun or in fair Baguio weather.

Similar synthetic hide material is applied on the trims of its door panels as well as on its dashboard and also on some portions of the center console and the second-row center armrest.

Mood lighting

The BYD Atto 3 is a pleasure to drive during the day as it is at night.

Providing the occupants with a better experience is a handful of interior lights. These include ambient lighting on the dashboard, door cards, driver footwell, front passenger footwell, front reading lamps, and rear reading lamps.

Other notable features

Other features worth noting include the BYD Atto 3 EV’s wireless phone charger, automatic air conditioning system, CN95 air filter, multi-functional steering wheel, and large panoramic sunroof.

Final thoughts

The BYD Atto 3 has an impressive interior considering its price point. The cabin is sure to provide its occupants with a comfortable space when traveling, both for short and long trips.

Surprisingly, the interior offers more flashy details than the exterior, which is not a bad thing since many onlookers appear to like the BYD Atto 3’s simple and seamless body.

BYD Philippines is offering the Atto 3 in two variants, Dynamic and Premium, and are priced at P1.598 million and P1.798 million, respectively.
