Comfort or Urban? We check out the Geely Okavango’s 2 variants
In November 2020, Geely released its third model in the Philippines, the Okavango. The Hangzhou-based car manufacturer first entered the country in September 2019 through Sojitz G Auto Philippines (SGAP), and is steadily growing its portfolio.
The Geely Okavango is a seven-seater crossover that guarantees a "wonderfully distinct" ride with its space, technology, power, design, comfort, versatility, and safety features.
The name Okavango was derived from the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Okavango Delta, which is located in Botswana. Geely compares the river’s vast distinctive ecosystem and diverse species to the automobile’s combination of enhanced technological aspect and spacious interior.
The Okavango has two variants: the Comfort and the Urban. All units are powered by a 1.5-liter Turbo engine with a seven-speed wet-type dual clutch transmission. Both variants boast a 48V Electric Motor Synergy (EMS) system which gives a total power of 190hp at 5,500rpm and 300Nm of Torque at 1,500-4,000rpm.
The Comfort and Urban variants ensure comfort for their drivers and passengers as both variants are equipped with three-zone automatic climate control (plus a CN95 filter) which allows the passengers of all rows to adjust the temperature settings. The passengers can also take advantage of the vehicle’s large interior space with 19-seat configurations, 42 storage nooks, and compartments with a double-layer console. Both variants are also equipped with outstanding safety and technology features such as driver and passenger airbags, rear parking sensor, hill descent control, hill start assist, immobilizer, tire pressure monitor, electronic stability control, remote start, and push button start.
Comfort
The Comfort variant uses 215/60R17 tires. The driver and passengers can experience the comfort of the fabric seat material installed in this variant. The seats can be adjusted using a six-way manual adjustment for the driver and four-way manual adjustment for the passenger. This variant is equipped with four speakers and uses reverse camera.
Urban
If you seek an upgraded and sophisticated vibe, you will be impressed by the Urban variant, which uses posh leather seat material with a six-way power-adjustable driver's seat and four-way power for the passenger seat. It is also comes with eight speakers for an enhanced entertainment experience while in the ride. When it comes to the exterior, an auto headlamp control and roof rail are exclusive to this variant. The Urban variant uses 225/55R18 car tires. Another distinct feature of the variant is the 360-degree camera view.
The Geely Okavango Comfort is priced at P1.208 million, while the Urban variant is at P1.328 million. Geely Philippines presently has four dealerships (North EDSA, Quezon Avenue, Cagayan de Oro, and Imus Cavite), expected to grow to 28 by the end of next year.
