The Hyundai Custin is available in white, gray, and blue. What powers the Hyundai Custin?
The Hyundai Custin is powered by a 1.5-liter T-GDI engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.Fast forward to today, the Hyundai Custin is still standing strong and has been one of the staples on HMPH’s roster, appearing on many of the brand’s activities in the country, like the Hyundai Mobility Experience in 2023 and in 2024, this year’s Auto Focus Test Drive Festival, as well as the company’s Weekend Hangout.
Its upmarket appointments has enticed many Filipino families to consider the South Korean MPV as their ride of choice. To better understand the nameplate’s appeal, we take a quick look at the three conservative colors of the Hyundai Custin.
Polar White
Being touted as a family car, it’s not surprising that the Hyundai Custin is available in white. After all, white is a color often associated with safety as studies reveal that white cars are less involved in accidents compared to vehicles finished with a different color.
Proving that it has enough safety features to be considered a proper family ferry, the MPV offers a handful of technologies that can make families feel safe. Below are some of its passive and active safety amenities.
Standard safety features:
- Airbags
- Seatbelts
- Electronic stability control
- Anti-lock braking
- Hill start assist control
- Tire pressure monitoring system
Of course, it also comes with technologies specifically designed to keep children safe while on the road. These include the following:
- Child anchor
- Child lock
Further, the Hyundai Custin is equipped with the Hyundai Smartsense suite of advanced safety features, which further bolsters the security of the MPV’s occupants. We have listed these features below:
- Cruise control
- Manual speed limit assist
- Forward collision avoidance assist
- Lane-keeping assist
- Blind spot collision avoidance assist
- Safe exit assist
- Driver attention warning
- High beam assist
- Lane following assist
- Rear cross collision avoidance assist
- Parking sensors
- Rear occupant alert
- Surround view monitor system
- Rearview monitor
White also embodies the family-friendly nature of the Hyundai Custin. As such, it comes stacked with appointments designed with comfort and convenience in mind.
For example, the MPV comes with captain seats for the second-row occupants. The range-topping model ups the ante by granting these VIP seats ventilation and heating as well as integrated memory features. They can also be adjusted to three relaxing positions, to best suit one’s seating preference.
In addition, the Hyundai Custin also gets a wireless charger for the front and second-row passengers, foldable backseat tables with integrated tablet stand, dual sunroof, window curtains, and optimized space for a luxurious riding feel.
Military Gray Metallic
It’s not often we see the word “military” in the colors offered by a brand. But even without calling the paintwork Military Gray Metallic, we’re convinced that the Hyundai Custin can be tough enough to handle everyday challenges.
Under its hood is Seoul-headquartered car manufacturer’s 1.5-liter T-GDI engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Per HMPH the said setup is able to dish out 167 horsepower with 253 Newton-meters.
This power production is decent enough for running errands in the city but also capable of taking the family outside the metro. It also has four driving modes that can be selected to suit one’s driving needs, namely Eco, Smart, Comfort, and Sport.
Supporting the MPV’s frame is a MacPherson strut setup at the front and a couple torsion beam axle arrangement at the rear. Depending on the variant, the 16-inch disc brakes (front and rear) can be housed on either a set of 17- or 18-inch alloy wheels.
Aurora Blue Pearl
The last color is a blue hue called Aurora Blue Pearl. Now this shade is usually connected to being calm and wisdom. On that note, the Hyundai Custin is packed with decent technological features that can impress one’s family members.
Past its leather-wrapped steering wheel is a full digital instrument panel with a 4.2 LCD screen. It is complemented by a 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto with Bluetooth and voice recognition.
The portrait-style center display can be used as a monitor for its multi-view camera, which gives drivers a 360-degree view of the car for squeezing into tight traffic or when getting out of narrow parking spaces.
Adding to the level of convenience are power sliding doors and a power tailgate.
