2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport Arrives in Philippines

MANILA: Land Rover Discovery Sport which is known for its versatility and toughness has finally made its way to Philippines, as LRPhils Motors Inc, the official distributor of Land Rover vehicles in country held the launch function of it at Pasong Tamo, Makati City. Talking about the SUV, it is powerful, efficient, and sporty with 5+2 seating configuration.

Dimension wise, it is 4569 mm long, 2173 mm wide, and 1724 mm tall with 600 mm wading depth. Design wise, the front has distinct grille paired with circular headlights, fog lamps, and bulge hood. The standard models receive halogen headlights with LED or Xenon illumination and optional Plus package. The styling cues borrowed from Evoque are sloping roofline, roof mounted spoiler, and circular taillight design with twin exhaust pipes.

Inside, the entry level S variant comes with mix of Resolve and Tofino cloth trim while SE gains grained-part leather, and the top variant, HSE Luxury has Windsor Leather available in colors as, Cirrus, Ivory, Tan, Almond, Ebony, and Glacier. Other interior amenities include heads-up display, air quality sensor, dual-zone climate control, full panoramic sunroof, 8-inch infotainment touchscreen system, headrest-mounted iPad holders, a center glovebox with cooling or warming function, and storage bins along with 12 V power points in each row.

The engines with which the Land Rover Discovery Sport is armed with are 2.2-litre TD4 turbo diesel that puts out 150 PS of power at 3500 rpm and 400 Nm of torque at 1750 rpm. Next is the 2.2-litre SD4 turbo diesel that generates 190 PS at 3500 rpm and 420 Nm at 1750 rpm. The top of the range is the 2.0-litre turbocharged all-alloy gasoline engine that propels 240 PS at 5800 rpm and 340 Nm at 1750 rpm. The diesel engines will be connected to either a 9-speed automatic or 6-speed manual and the gasoline one will be paired with 9-speed automatic gearbox.

The safety features that are present in the Land Rover Discovery Sport are Park Assist, Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Reverse Traffic Detection, Lane Departure Warning, Trailer Stability Assist, Tow Assist with Tow Hitch assist, HD Surround Camera System, Blind Spot Monitoring, Automatic Headlights, Satellite Navigation, Rain-sensing wipers and Parking Sensors.

This is not the end as the SUV offers a lot of exterior color option as well- Fuji White, Phoenix Orange, Santorini Black, Barolo Black, Corris Gray, Yulong White, Indus Silver, Kaikoura Stone, Aintree Green, Loire Blue, Scotia Gray, and Firenze Red.
