2019 Mercedes-Benz GLC unveiled, gets a plethora of updates

MANILA: There is no denying to the fact that Mercedes-Benz GLC is one of the better selling models by the German automaker. However, with the passage of time and the ever-evolving automobile industry, every car needs an update once in a while, no matter how good it already is. And Mercedes-Benz has done just that by unveiling the 2019 GLC.

Adorning the new GLC on the outside is some good amount of chrome. However, the car has undergone the hammer even on the inside and under the hood. But the changes do not end just there as Mercedes-Benz has also updated the software on the GLC. The updates on the front fascia comprise of LED headlamps and new light pattern.

The grille slats have also been given an update and a new chrome-finished faux skidplate sits on the reshaped front bumper. More chrome can be seen on the rear end along with the window sills. There is also a redesigned AMG kit along with redone alloy wheels.

On the inside of the 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLC, the centre of attraction is the COMAND touchpad, while the rest of the interior is more or less the same. The steering wheel has also received an update and feature renovated spokes and rim. Talking of the infotainment system on the 2019 GLC,

the car gets the MBUX system. Just like the Gesture Control System by the German counterpart BMW, there is the Interior Assistant on the GLC. Making parking and manoeuvring the car in traffic convenient, you get a real-time image of your surroundings in the navigation system, thanks to the Augmented Video feature.

Moving on to the mechanical aspects of the 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLC, both the GLC 200 and GLC 300 powertrains now come equipped with mild hybrid technology. Due to the hybrid update, the GLC 200 now produces 197 PS of maximum power, which is good 13 PS more than what the previous system offered. The GLC 300 also gets a bump in the power figures and now churns out a maximum power output of 258 PS compared to the 245 PS earlier.

If you like diesel mills more, there is an all-new motor GLC 200d with 163 PS of power. Previous models GLC 220d and GLC 300d now produce 194 PS and 245 PS of maximum power, respectively. Mercedes-Benz has been quite busy recently as the brand has also unveiled special editions of its offerings.
