The 350,000 Lego bricks that make up the 1:1 scale model highlight the Kia EV6's eye-catching and motivating design while simultaneously indicating that the future of sustainable mobility must be established “brick by brick.” The stunning model keeps the detailed design elements and distinctive character of the Kia EV6.
The “Brick To The Future” EV6, which was commissioned by Kia Italy, required more than 800 hours to complete. It was created by Reggio Emilia-based company BrickVision, which was founded by Riccardo Zangelmi, the first and only Lego Certified Professional in Italy. Zangelmi turned his passion for Lego bricks into a successful business. The “Brick To The Future” EV6 took four weeks to construct, and Zangelmi's team even devised a functioning lighting system to maintain the Kia EV6's highly distinctive lighting personality from every perspective.
A video uploaded on the Kia Italy YouTube Channel details the full construction process. The project's many stages — from conception to execution to presentation — are shown in the video. The video depicts an adventurous journey that, like the road taken by Kia in 2021 with the brand's “Plan S” strategy, evokes wonder and amazement with its creative and constructive elaboration. Under Plan S, Kia is expanding its current business model in order to grow into a truly sustainable mobility company.
The Kia EV6, which made its debut in 2021, is the first of 15 all-electric vehicles that Kia will release globally by 2027. Built on the company's groundbreaking E-GMP (Electric Global Modular Platform) architecture, the Kia EV6 was soon joined by the Kia EV9, a futuristic three-row SUV developed with the same technology and providing fully electric motoring and space for up to seven occupants.
The Kia EV6 was officially launched in the Philippines last month, priced at P3.788 million.
The Kia EV6 in the Philippines is offered in the GT-Line variant. It delivers 229ps of power and 350Nm of torque.
The Kia EV6 boasts a futuristic, sophisticated look accentuated by the elegant clamshell hood and a crossover-inspired side profile. The Kia EV6 is designed to achieve ultimate aerodynamic performance, which significantly contributes to its impressive 528km range.
The fully electric powertrain of the Kia EV6 includes a 77.4kWH high-voltage battery pack that allows the vehicle to reach over 500km on a single charge.
The battery system of the Kia EV6 uses lithium-ion battery cells that are resistant to large water splashes. Its casing system has an IP66 international rating that is commonly used for electric enclosures with plastic hinges and waterproof gaskets. The Kia EV6 itself also comes with a water-sensing system that automatically deactivates the EV system if water exposure is beyond safety standards when there is water intrusion.
The Kia EV6 is also packed with advanced safety features such as Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Junction Turning Detection, Blind Spot Detection and Monitor, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping and Following Assist Technology, Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go, Safe Exit Assist, and 360-View Monitor.
The Kia EV6 also comes with the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function that allows it to supply power to charge mobile devices in case of power outages or camping trips.
All these exceptional features made the Kia EV6 earn international accolades such as the 2022 iF Design Award, 2022 Red Dot Award, 2022 European Car of the Year, and US Car of the Year.
