How about 55.5 kmpl from BMW X1 xDrive25e?
MANILA: Hybrid vehicles are all the rage today. So much so that pretty much all the automobile manufacturers are now equipping their offerings with hybrid tech. Coming out straight from Munich, Germany is the all-new BMW X1 xDrive25e. So, with the BMW X1 also featuring a hybrid variant, almost complete portfolio of the German automaker is now electrified with the likes of the X1, X3, X5, X7, and all of the 3-4-5-6-7 Series models available with a hybrid variant.
Coming back to the BMW X1 xDrive25e, this particular model is going to accumulate quite high sales figures courtesy of its fuel efficiency. So, how efficient is the BMW X1 xDrive25e? Well, thanks to the 9.7 kWh battery and 70 kW electric motor that works in conjunction with the internal combustion engine, the German crossover can go for 55.5 kilometres on a single litre of fuel. As a result, every 100 kilometres for the BMW X1 xDrive25e need just 1.8 litres of fuel.
Furthermore, the BMW X1 xDrive25e can travel for 57 kilometres purely on electricity at speeds of up to 30 kmph. And yes, the X1 still retains its all-wheel-drive system even after getting benefited from the hybrid tech. Talking about the internal combustion engine that houses under the hood of the BMW X1 xDrive25e, there's a 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine that makes 125 PS of maximum power and a peak torque 220 Nm.
As mentioned before, the electric motor that works in tandem with the ICE is a 70 kW unit that helps in ramping up the total system output to a maximum power of 220 PS along with a peak torque of 385 Nm. The BMW X1 xDrive25e is capable of doing a 0-100 kmph run in a matter of 7.0 seconds before topping out at 192 kmph.
Barring the hybrid powertrain, the BMW X1 xDrive25e is identical to its non-hybrid siblings and features similar exterior and interior setups. However, there is a flap on the fender for the electric socket. For customers looking for the BMW X1 xDrive25e in a sporty guise, there is also the option of the much popular M Sport package on this hybrid variant of the BMW X1. If BMW Philippines eventually brings the all-new X1 xDrive25e to the country? Will it replace your conventional fuel guzzler?
