New BMW X3 arrives in PH, priced at P3.79-M

MANILA: Local BMW distributor SMC Asia Car Distributors Corp. has rolled out the new BMW X3, which now comes in the xDrive20d Business variant. The model's exterior styling, drivetrain, infotainment, advanced driver assistance systems, and optional equipment have all received major upgrades.

The third-generation BMW X3's dynamic look and rugged off-road style are now even more prominent, owing to a redesigned front end and rear section. Among the exterior upgrades for the new BMW X3 are the new BMW kidney grille, headlights, front and rear bumpers, exhaust trim, and rear lights.

The standard full LED headlights are around 10 millimeters flatter than the predecessor. The BMW kidney grille has been enlarged and is now surrounded by a single-piece frame with a black sensor bar to provide visual distinction.

The redesigned front bumper is framed by vertical air intakes placed in a triangular layout beneath the headlights. Satin aluminum is used for the roof rails and window frames.

The rear taillights are now designed with a 3D pincer-claw shape and a horizontal turn signal bar in the middle.

The concave section at the bottom of the tailgate, where horizontal lines are accentuated, helps the rear end look cleaner. To create more presence, the new flush-fitting free-form exhaust trim is bigger and edgier.

Additionally, the BMW X3 xDrive20d Business is fitted with 18-inch light alloy wheels with the V-spoke 618 design and 225/60 R18 tires.

On the inside, the new BMW X3 comes standard with electrically powered front sports seats with pronounced side bolsters. All seats are covered in high-quality Black Vernasca leather to provide a premium appearance and ease of maintenance.

The new BMW X3 is equipped with a 10.25-inch diagonal freestanding central Control Display with touch function. The Touch Controller can also be used to process information into the infotainment system. The BMW Live Cockpit Plus instrument, which has a 5.1-inch color display at the center, works in tandem with the Control Display.

The intelligent networking and cutting-edge digital services of the BMW Operating System 7 serve as the foundation for the BMW Live Cockpit Plus system. For a seamless and secure user experience, digital services like the BMW Intelligent Voice Control, Connected Music, and wireless smartphone connectivity through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto are available.

BMW Intelligent Voice Control is continuously being improved with new features, improving the interaction between the driver and the vehicle. Commands like controlling the air-conditioning, opening and closing the windows, or switching driving modes may now be carried out using naturally spoken instructions. The system also distinguishes whether it is being addressed by the front passenger or the driver and responds accordingly.

Below the standard Control Display is a control panel that includes an LCD display, buttons to turn on the hazard warning lights and driver assistance systems, as well as rocker switches and buttons to operate various automatic air conditioning functions.

The new BMW X3 also comes standard with driver assistance systems such as cruise control with braking function and tire pressure monitoring sensor.

The new BMW X3 is powered by a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology with Multi-Stage Turbocharging, low pressure charger with variable inlet geometry, common-rail direct injection with solenoid valve injectors.

The engine produces a maximum power of 190hp and a maximum torque of 400Nm, making the new BMW X3 capable of accelerating from a standstill to 100 kph in 7.9 seconds and reaching a top speed of 213kph.

The engine is mated to a eight-speed Steptronic transmission, which helps reduce fuel consumption and emissions.

The new BMW X3's dynamic capabilities are significantly improved by the BMW xDrive all-wheel drive system. Its precise electronic control provides the sporty power distribution that is typical of the brand. Additionally, BMW xDrive optimizes traction and driving stability on unpaved roads.

The BMW X3 xDrive20d Business is priced at P3.79 million. Every purchase comes with a five-year comprehensive BMW warranty.
