Volvo PH to reveal XC40, C40 next month?

Volvo Philippines is set to reveal its latest offering (or offerings) next month, which will probably the much-awaited XC40 and C40.

The assumption was based on a save-the-date invite sent to Zigwheels Philippines for an event set for October 4.  The invite showed the rear portion of a vehicle similar to that can be seen on the two models.

Last January, Carmudi Philippines (Zigwheels Philippines’ sister company) reported about the introduction of the XC40 and C40 within the final quarter of 2023.

Should the guess be verified, the two arriving Volvo powerhouses are expected to bring additional jolt to the local electric vehicle industry. To note, Volvo Philippines is the first automotive luxury marque in the country that offered plug-in hybrid vehicles.

Abroad, the two nameplates are powered by dual electric permanent magnet synchron front and rear motors that can provide as much as 408 horsepower and 660 Newton meters of torque. This allows the C40 to go 0-100 kilometers per hour in 4.7 seconds and XC40, in 4.8 seconds.  

Further, the said vehicles are paired to an automatic transmission.

In terms of range, the Volvo C40 Pure Electric can cover 539 kilometers  while the XC40 Pure Electric, 537 kilometers.

Currently, Volvo Philippines only offers mild-hybrid version of the XC40 alongside the S90, XC60and XC90 in their mild hybrid forms.
