WATCH: Land Rover celebrates Range Rover Sport's 1-M sales milestone

MANILA: The one millionth Range Rover Sport was sold in December 2020. To celebrate this milestone, Land Rover looked back on the SUV’s highlights since its debut.

The Ranger Rover Sport was introduced at the North American International Auto Show in January 2005. The second generation was first unveiled through a spectacle with the participation of actor Daniel Craig in New York City in March 2013.

In June 2013, the powerful performance of the Ranger Rover Sport was proven on the Pikes Peak Hill Climb course in USA, where it set a new Hill Climb record for production SUV.  In November of the same year, it acquired another record as the fastest vehicle to drive through the Empty Quarter Desert in Saudi Arabia.

Land Rover launched a new Range Rover Sport variant in August 2014—the Range Rover SVR. It is considered the world’s fastest production SUV. Meanwhile, the hybrid variant of the Range Rover Sport was released in October 2017. The Range Rover Sport PHEV is the first vehicle to drive up the 999 steps of the Heaven’s Gate staircase in China.

The Range Rover Sport’s one millionth sale was celebrated in a commemorative video that features the achievements of the SUV for the last 15 years. Watch the Ranger Rover Sport video here.

This high-powered vehicle is motivated by an Ingenium six-cylinder diesel engine. Aside from the P400e PHEV, the Range Rover Sport now comes with new special edition models.

The Range Rover Sport PHEV is included in Land Rover’s ongoing Chinese New Year promo. The hybrid SUV is now available at P8.888 million. The promo runs until February 28, 2021.
