Yes, the 2022 Isuzu mu-X will be unveiled on Sept. 22

MANILA: The long awaited successor to Isuzu Philippines Corporation's (IPC) best-selling pickup truck-based SUV is nearing its reveal.

The all-new 2022 Isuzu mu-X will be unveiled in all its glory on September 22, 2021 at 7 p.m. on the brand's YouTube channel and Facebook page.

We first saw renders and patent images for the 2022 Isuzu mu-X last year and, after months of speculation and anticipation, you'll be greeted by a teaser page on the Isuzu Philippines website for the upcoming SUV. 

When the all-new Isuzu D-Max was released earlier this year, everyone knew that it was just a matter of time before its SUV sibling gets revealed as well. 

Due to the COVID-19 situation and concerns regarding lockdowns, Isuzu Philippines was hesitant to set a particular date, but with easing restrictions, the timing couldn't have been better to introduce the all-new Isuzu mu-X to its rabid fanbase. 

Details of the Philippine-spec 2022 Isuzu mu-X have yet to be released but if the Thai version were to be the source of the specifications, we're in for a sure treat. Saddle brown leather seats, ambient lighting and a more modern, refreshed dashboard design for its interiors are just the tip of the iceberg for the new model.

The PHDM model could also see upgraded diesel engines from the outgoing model namely the  3.0-liter 4JJ3-TCX that reportedly makes 187hp at 3,600rpm and 450Nm from 1,600 to 2,600rpm as well as the second generation of the beloved RZ4E-TC engine that churns out 148hp at 3,600rpm and 350Nm of torque from 1,800–2,600rpm.

 

Thai market models are never wanting for color options, and Isuzu Philippines is also expected to offer the 2022 Isuzu mu-X in various color schemes such as Marrakech Sugar, White Dolomite Pearl, Red Atna, Black Bavarian Mica, Iceberg Money and Bohemian Silver Metallic.
